MCEC  PRAYERS FOR SUNDAY, JANUARY 14, 2024

  • Taucha Inrig will be Licensed Toward Ordination at Wideman Mennonite Church on January 14, 2024. Pray for Taucha and the congregation as they celebrate her calling to ministerial leadership. To share your words of encouragement and support with Taucha, you can reach her at inrigt@yahoo.com.
  • Pray for MCEC staff from the mission office who are in Ottawa this weekend for an Intercultural Church Conversation. Pray for Fanosie Legesse, Intercultural Mission Minister, and Yoel Masyawong, Mission Associate, as they and church leaders reflect on the joys and challenges and the Biblical images and practical examples of being an intercultural church.
  • Continue to hold our world in prayer as war and rumours of war resound. Pray for those who experience grief and pain; live in fear and danger because of armed conflict and call out to God from such harsh realities. Pray for Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Russia, Myanmar and more. Lord, hear our prayers.

ATTENDING WITHIN: INNER WORK GROUP FOR QUEER ALLIES

  • Tuesdays, Feb.6, 20, Mar.5, 19 – 7:30-9 pm. Facilitated by Tamara Shantz. • Do you have a strong reaction sometimes when someone corrects your pronoun use?  Are you nervous about getting things right in supporting 2SLGBTQ+ folks?  Are you joyful about the ever growing movement for inclusion in the church and want to explore that in community?  We will explore these themes and more together through four sessions of conversation, contemplation, and prayer.
  • Visit www.tamarashantz.com/attending-within-queer-ally-group for more information and to register or email Tamara at tamarashantz@gmail.com.  The group will be limited to 12-15 people so don’t wait to register.  Thanks to Rockway Mennonite Church for their financial support to make this group accessible to all!
